Doka delivered a formwork system for the construction of the deepest tunnel that was built until now. A 3.0 km long and 26.4 m wide immersed tunnel will connect the City of Busan, which is the second biggest City of Korea, to the island of Geoje. The building is designed with two traffic lanes and an inbetween situated service gallery. The tunnel will be immersed to a depth of 60 m, so it will be the deepest immersed tunnel that was constructed until now. A Joint Venture around the main constructor Daewoo got the order to build the Busan-Geoje Fixed Link Project. |

The four designed carriages are 100 % custom made constructions with a forming length of 22.5 m and a total weight of 1,000 tons each. For setting, adjusting, striking and for the shifting of the whole construction into the next casting step each carriage was equipped with six hydraulic units and 72 hydraulic jacks. For the monolithic casting of 2,305 m³ concrete for the tunnels foundation, the walls and the slab 24 hours per section are needed.
