| 24 m “white tank” assuring a water impermeable skin in a weekly cycle |
| As a part of the “Adriatic-Baltic-axis”, an international rail corridor between Venice and Warsaw, the Koralmbahn represents a direct connection between Graz and Klagenfurt. For the enclosure of the new railway line near Grafenstein in order to provide noise insulation the executive construction company Massivbau used a 24 m long Doka tunnel formwork carriage. |

The enclosure of the railway had to be built as a so-called “white tank” assuring a water impermeable skin. Therefore the striking times had to be accurately observed. To provide casting sections as large as possible in a weekly cycle Doka constructed an extra long tunnel formwork carriage consisting of components from the consistently proven heavy-duty supporting system SL-1 and the large-area formwork Top 50.
The 34 large-area formwork elements were preassembled in the Doka ”Ready-to-use-service”. 20 mm tie rods permit bigger space between the steel walings - that saves 48 anchor points per casting section and shows an overall saving of 1,008 anchor poinst for the 21 casting sections. This means also fewer operational hours and lower material costs. By an construction period of 6 months the Doka formwork carriage is the most efficient solution.
