Leipzig’s “City Tunnel” will pass beneath the centre of the city to link its two rail terminuses “Leipzig Hauptbahnhof” and “Bayrischer Bahnhof”. Three Doka SL-1 tunnel formwork travellers are in action on this project, fitted with 400 m² of Wall formwork FF20. Contract section C: Towards the north, the tunnel passes beneath Leipzig’s main railway station, leading to a section which is being constructed as a cut-and-cover tunnel complete with a flying junction. The 800 m long northern and western ramps, also built using the cut-and-cover method, will then link the tunnel to the existing overground network. |
