For the U2/2 Taborstrasse Vienna metro extension, 2 station tubes were constructed using mining-type tunnel formwork consisting of pre-assembled Top 50 elements and a falsework construction made from the Heavy-duty supporting system SL-1. In each of the 110 m long tubes, typical blocks of 10 m in length had to be formed.

To permit the travelling tunnel-formwork unit S1-S24 to be travelled from one main tube to the next, it was designed so that it could be separated into two halves. The travelling tunnel-formwork unit was wheeled through the interconnecting tunnel and rebuilt there ready for forming further blocks.
