The latest Doka innovations at World of Concrete 2008
The Table Lifting System TLS and the guided Climbing formwork Xclimb 60 – two new systems to be showcased by Doka USA at World of Concrete 2008 that help construction firms get a lasting competitive edge. As well as this, Doka will be informing fairgoers on the many different advantages of the high-performing Framax framed formwork for walls, the flexibility and cost efficiency of the slab formwork system Dokaflex, and the precision of the Doka circular formwork H 20.
Jumping tableforms cranelessly to the next level
The novel Table Lifting System TLS from Doka lays down some brand-new benchmarks for craneless vertical repositioning of Dokamatic tables, opening up radically new vistas when it comes to jobsite costings and planning. This innovative hoisting appliance is used for safe, craneless lifting of Doka tableforms to the next story – at a speed of 10 m/min. The valuable crane time which it saves is then available for other operations on the site. This speeds up construction workflows and efficiently reduces labor costs. The system’s integrated brackets make it possible to assemble climbing table-lifting units with a lifting height of up to 10 m. These TLS climbing units can be crane-lifted to other positions on the site at any time. For lifting-heights of up to 40 m, the TLS is simply erected on a base slab. Horizontal repositioning of the tableforms is also carried out with no need for a crane, using the field-proven attachable drive unit and shifting trolley.
Cost-saving climbing formwork
The new climbing-formwork system Xclimb 60 is an all-round, cost-effective system specially designed for the high-rise construction field. It adapts to variations in the story heights with no need for any modifications to the climbing scaffolds, and climbs either with crane assistance or hydraulically. It is attached to the structure by way of either walls or floor-slabs, as required. This enables the user to utilize this climbing system with either framed or timber-beam formworks for exterior facades, punctuated facades and high-rise cores. Xclimb 60 system components are also used as a climbing protection screen for safeguarding slab-edges. The resulting all-round enclosure provides a safe working environment and leads to substantial time-savings in the forming and reinforcement operations. As well as simplifying logistics, the system’s high degree of pre-assembly facilitates on-site assembly and handling. Its modular system concept makes for efficient utilization planning. The climbing scaffolds are continuously structure-guided, enabling lifting and resetting to take place in any weather and ensuring a high level of safety in all phases of the work. The wide platforms give the site crew plenty of room to move in.
Framax framed formwork – high-performing solutions from a modular “construction kit”
When it comes to wall formwork, too, expo-goers will find plenty of convincing proof of the merits of Doka’s high-performing, cost-killing formwork solutions. A key focus here is on the high-performing Framax Xlife framed formwork system. With its hot-dip galvanized, powder-coated steel frames, this is the system of choice for high numbers of re-use cycles. With its extra-long service life, and needing only a smaller number of wall-ties, it’s guaranteed to ensure economical construction operations. What’s more, its logical system-grid gives users a maximum of flexibility, ensuring optimum utilization of the formwork equipment.
Another Doka offering for the wall-formwork field is the rugged, fast hand-set formwork system Frami. The universal “Frami clamp” panel connector makes the formwork very easy to set up, helping work to move ahead swiftly.
This keeps the on-site formwork quantities down to a minimum, and optimizes users’ rental costs.
Following on from the Framax “construction kit”, there will be exhibits from the field of circular formwork. The Circular formwork H 20 system scores for its continuous adaptability to different radii by way of easy-to-operate spindles, for its heavy-duty form-ply and extremely robust design. Besides this, Circular formwork H 20 can readily be combined with Framax framed formwork and Column formwork RS. Also on show here will be the Framax circular forming plate, for enabling Framax panels to be used as a low-cost circular formwork.
Forming floor-slabs the fast, flexible way
Another big focus at the expo is the cost-saving floor-slab formwork Dokaflex. The versatile system-grid of this efficient hand-set system not only makes for quick and easy formwork set-up but also provides maximum adaptability to all layout shapes. The perfectly interoperable system components ensure extremely long service life even when subjected to high numbers of repeat uses, delivering reduced close-out costs and optimized site logistics.

In addition, visitors to the DOKA booth will have the opportunity to put Doka formwork equipment to the test and get an instant demonstration of its real-world practicality. The unrivalled “H20 top” formwork beam, with its built-in shock absorbers, performs convincingly when put to the acid test in this way, with its tremendous resistance to mechanical damage. At the Doka expo stand, fairgoers can also try their hand at optimized formwork removal using the award-winning Framax bias cut corner I.
