Doka’s, large yellow and blue, 50 x 90’, booth could not be missed and welcomed in large amounts of guests, including many contractors, engineers, students, and other interested attendees. Not only did everyone enjoy Doka’s displayed products, but the hands-on equipment at the booth encouraged visitors to grab hold of a hammer and test out the equipment on there own. “All you need is one blow of the hammer and the panels are joined and aligned,” said Dan Kent, Northeast account manager, as he showed Tom Myers of Industrial Concrete, Doka ’s lightweight clamp system, Frami. “The best part of Doka’s booth is that it’s nice to actually do-it-yourself and get a feel for what Doka’s Formwork offers.”
Doka’s Safety Corner station displayed its Heavy Duty Platform K, MF240, and Handrail Clamp S, as well as information on the new Windshield. “One of the biggest and most important factors when choosing the right formwork is safety,” explained Kaven Philbrook, project manager of Cianbro Construction. “We want our employees to have good working conditions and not worry about liabilities and accidents. After visiting Doka’s booth, it was great to see all the different safety options available on display.” Visitors were able to climb the Staxo stair tower and physically step onto the Platform K and MF240. Doka’s safety station addressed the importance of dependable protection on jobsites.
Highlighting the entire event was Doka’s new Table Lifting System (TLS). The innovative TLS satisfied many contractors looking for a faster method of cycling formwork and reducing crane time. The 9’ x 16’ platform is adaptable to any building structure and can be used from the ground floor up to cycle Dokamatic Tables or re-shoring. “The system is extremely economical and efficient. Using the TLS, I can use my crane time for other construction activities while moving table forms from floor to floor,” stated George Fuller, or Roger and Sons Construction. The demonstration of Doka’s TLS, included maneuvering the Dokamatic Table from a platform with the use of a shifting trolley, where it was then positioned onto the TLS and lifted over twenty feet high before being lowered back down. “I was surprised to see how quickly the system moves. It took less than 20 seconds to raise, which would allow for a continuous stripping and cycling procedure. The system is a cost effective method to save valuable crane time,” George stated. Innovating formwork technology, many found interest in the new TLS.
Doka displayed a myriad of its other products, including Framax Xlife, Dokaflex S, Dokamatic Table, Girder, Top 50, Column Formwork, and Eurex Props. Beside the attractive beverage bar where interested guests enjoyed a cold beverage, Doka’s Media Stations located throughout the booth provided videos on all products as well as job site reference photos. The amount of hands-on samples, literature, and face-to-face Doka representatives that were available made Doka’s booth a success.
