Doka’s new Table Lifting System (TLS) has been named as one of the recipients of the 2009 World of Concrete Most Innovative Products (MIP) award.
The contest acknowledges innovation in the concrete and masonry construction industry. A total of 100 entries in 14 categories were submitted, with 27 winners selected. Each entry was reviewed for their unique attributes and contributions to the concrete industry by the readers of Concrete Construction, Concrete & Masonry Construction Products, Masonry Construction, and The Concrete Producer; World of Concrete attendees; as well as a panel of industry experts.
“We are really honored to be recognized by the attendees of World of Concrete as well as the readers of the leading trade publications with an MIP award for the TLS,” said Andrew Mair, Doka USA CEO.
This is the second time the TLS has been recognized with a significant award since its launch in the United States in 2007. In November, the Table Lifting System received the NOVA Award from the Construction Innovation Forum (CIF). The CIF is an international, non-profit organization formed in 1987 to recognize and encourage innovation that improves quality and reduces cost of construction.
The TLS is an electric powered lifting platform that allows preassembled Dokamatic table formwork to be cycled between floors on a building structure without the need for a crane. Dokamatic tables are formwork tables for horizontal slab construction available in fully assembled units, including plywood. This eliminates build-up cost, reduces rental costs and allows for less skilled and smaller crew sizes. The TLS device enables high production concrete forming methods, typically only affordable in large high-rise construction projects, to be used for construction of low to mid-rise building projects. With the TLS, contractors can economically gang the slab formwork in large units and move them from floor to floor without a crane.
