Doka has won another landmark, the super-high-rise Lokhandwala Minerva building in Mumbai.

The 28^th of April is the World Day for Safety and Health at Work. Doka will be putting on a great many initiatives in the Safety Week from 23^rd to 28^th April.

The University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences, Vienna, this year invites entries for the eleventh international Josef Umdasch Research Prize, which is endowed with 30,000 euros in prize money. Instituted in memory of the founder of the Umdasch Group, this prize is one of Europe’s premier awards for research in the field of forestry and timber science, a fact which is underlined by the high quality of the research papers submitted over the years. The deadline for the submission of entries for the 2012 Josef Umdasch Research Prize is 31st July 2012.

Doka has taken the next step in its successful internationalisation drive by establishing a wholly-owned branch operation in Australia.

The Saudi government is currently working toward completion of the 160-hectare King Abdullah Financial District. The CMA Tower soars 400 metres high, and along with SKE100 automatic climbing formwork, Staxo 40 load-bearing towers are being used on the build, debuting in Saudi Arabia on projects of this magnitude. The construction crews are using the fully planked levels of the framed formwork for access, so people working or moving on the scaffolding and underneath the superstructure do so quickly and in safety.

The commercial and economic centre town of Ramat Gan near Tel Aviv will soon boast a new landmark structure. Set to top out at 167 m, the Champion Tower will be one of the tallest office buildings in Israel’s metropolitan region of Gusch Dan. Doka Canada has won the vaunted ACI 2011 Award of Excellence in Concrete. The American Concrete Institute (ACI) awards the prize annually for outstanding achievement.

Five Doka composite forming carriages are in action on the Valtellina Viaduct in northern Italy. The main contract section of the new Morbegno to Stelvio bypass is 3850 m long. The Valtellina Viaduct comprises a steel superstructure on which the Doka carriages are casting a total of 160 slab segments. The project commenced in December 2009 and is scheduled for completion by April 2012. With its suspended finishing-work platform levels, the Doka composite forming carriage provides a very high standard of safety.
