Shahar Tower brings a new (high)light to the Tel Aviv skyline

24.07.2013 | News
Doka Israel is right on site when it comes to the country’s most challenging residential, bridge, tunnel and infrastructure projects. Its involvement in prestige projects like the Hauma Railway Station or the Haifa Port Expansion and the Champion Tower, has given it the reputation of being a reliable partner delivering appropriate solutions for projects of all kinds. This was a crucial factor for Tidhar Construction Group Ltd. when it awarded the contract to supply the engineering solutions and all formwork equipment for the Shahar Tower.

The Shahar Tower, which means ‘dawn tower’, will rise up to more than 200 m, making it one of the tallest buildings in Israel. The 200 million-Euro project is part of a new residential, business and trading area in the centre of Givattayim City, which is located at a major intersection at the heart of metropolitan Tel Aviv. The 55 storeys of the building will contain around 50,000 m2 of offices and about 149 residential apartments on the top 15 floors. On the first two floors, visitors may stroll through a wide lobby and retail area while below them there will be ample parking space (around 45,000 m2) on five underground levels.

Even now during the construction phase, the name ‘dawn tower’ is already quite fitting, as most of the foundation castings on 16th May had to be done during the night. Approx. 3,500 m3 of concrete were supplied to the site at this busy downtown intersection in the space of twelve hours.

The formwork solution from Doka Israel and innovative systems like the Automatic climbing formwork SKE50 plus or Large-area formwork Top 50, Climbing formwork MF240 platforms and Frami Xlife will contribute to rapid construction progress on this site while the self climbing Protection screen Xclimb 60 ensures a safe working environment also on higher levels of the building.
