Storage reservoir for lowering the Szamos-Kraszna flood level

Operations for the storage reservoir to lower the Szamos-Kraszna flood level were completed on schedule. The largest water catchment basin structure in Hungary with record dimensions was built near Tunyogmatolcs. Installation of lock plates and segment plates started during the summer months. Construction required more than 21,000 cubic metres of concrete and 2,560 tonnes of reinforced concrete. 13 columns designed to support the inflow of water are built on the structure with record dimensions of 118 m width and 278 m length.
