Avonmouth Energy Recovery Facility

Doka were selected by Clugston Construction Ltd as the main formwork supplier for the new Resource Recovery Centre facility in Avonmouth, Somerset. The Resource Recovery Centre was commissioned by Somerset Waste Partnership. Once complete, the new £252m Resource Recovery Centre (RRC), being constructed by main contractor CNIM in conjunction with Clugston Construction, will generate around 32 MW (gross) of clean, sustainable baseload electricity to power around 44,000 homes. The centre will offer an alternative to landfilling non-recyclable waste from households and businesses and will use safe, environmentally sustainable and reliable technology to divert 320,000 tonnes of non-recyclable waste away from landfill each year.
