Flachau noise-abatement gallery

Austria

Noise-abatement galleries follow on from both ends of the Flachau motorway enclosure on the southbound carriageway of Austria's A 10. The northern gallery is 204 m long and the southern one 156 m; unlike the enclosure tunnel, the galleries have not been covered with spoil. Both the galleries were built so that they are closed on the side facing the village, and open on the uphill side. The contractors chose to use a Doka SL-1 tunnel formwork traveller, thanks to its high proportion of rentable components.
