    Challenge

    • Enable reinforcement of the Railroad side elements.
    • Ensuring 4.8m clearance under the two middle bridge spans of 22 m and almost 20 m wide for truck traffic.
    • Pouring the bridge deck about 35 cm above its final position before lowering.

    Solution

    • ParaTop with specially designed ParaTop-insert shoe to ensure distribution of the load on the steel structure during casting.
    • Doka's engineering construction kit for heavy loads: a mix of Doka UniKit primary and secondary beams supported by an SL-1 structure.
    • Doka UniKit primary & secondary beams, which have an extremely high load-capacity were pre-assembled horizontally and lifted up into the position of the main & extension girders.

    • Efficient and safe construction for the 785 m long and wide-span composite bridge with piers up to 66 m high.

    Challenge

    • High level of complexity is introduced through its height, pier geometry, massive pier heads, and remarkable length and span.

    Solution

    • Automatic climbing formwork SKE100 plus was used for concreting the piers, and the SKE100 plus platforms could be reused for the pier heads and moved to the next pier without being dismantled.
    • Two composite forming carriages ensured that the concrete of the roadway slab could be connected to the steel structure. The suspended finishing-work platform provided a high degree of safety.
