At Umdasch, we make no distinction between women and men: what counts for us is ability, attitude and commitment. We are and have been a good, reliable and absolutely trustworthy employer for many years; on all levels and in every respect.
In our company, cooperation between the generations works. Because we know that the skills of experienced people are just as important as the strong commitment and up-to-date knowledge of the younger ones. Our intergenerational work style and learning opportunities create a win-win situation for everyone.
Switching from your old workplace to the Umdasch Group means joining a company where the possibilities of a big and internationally active organisation go hand in hand with the job qualities of a locally rooted company. It will mean chances and security for you, but also requires commitment and mobility in terms of time, space and thinking.
A good start whets the appetite for more. It boosts your confidence and clarifies your personal goals. At Umdasch, a good start will also broaden your horizon towards a more global view and show you the broad spectrum of professional possibilities. Given the chance to put your knowledge into practice, your motivation will grow. The companies of the Umdasch Group are solution-oriented, hands-on companies.
To further your professional and personal development, to pursue an interesting career and to get involved internationally, you need an employer who not only permits but actively supports that. We offer these perspectives and a secure future. Worldwide.
Professional reorientation and beginning
Sound preparation is the key to success. That’s why we take our time to prepare our people in the best possible way for the upcoming tasks: with well-structured training plans, job rotation and internal as well as external workshops, for example Doka’s four-week training course for engineers.
Skills are only of great value if they are used purposefully and effectively. Jointly agreed targets specify the tasks, performance criteria and framework conditions. That’s only fair and ensures desired solutions and results for all parties. The basis of all success stories.
Experience otherwise dry theory in the colourful world of practice, help create results, get in touch with internationality, document your own progress and successfully finish your training – with our internships and contacts, Umdasch Group has become a helpful guide and coach for many students. And consequently, a trusted employer.
If you are successful in your studies, you show genuine interest in your chosen field of expertise and willingness to put even more intensive and consistent effort into it. We strongly support these efforts because such an attitude distinguishes the type of people we want in our team to create our future together, to further innovations and to achieve new successes.
Getting to know each other
Offering several internships abroad every year, workshops and studies in our companies and practical support in finding topics for final papers and theses, we contribute our share to the development of the future elite. This is how we build up a good reputation among all those who will soon be the decision makers. With us or in other companies.
We call people with high professional and practical competencies “the masters of our future”. They are recognised in the industry, work all over the globe and form the strong backbone of our success – and in many cases, they started off as apprentices. The current offer of 11 apprenticeships lives up to almost everyone’s interests, and now we even offer an apprenticeship including the “Matura”, the Austrian university-entrance qualification examination. Your future can start. Let’s build it together.
We take achievement seriously and thus also acknowledge the achievements of the youngest members of our team. For instance, with a reward for particularly good results. What is more, we offer special rates for apprentices in the canteen, company shuttle buses, excursions, international exchange programmes and, last but not least, great courses in the Umdasch Academy. Now that rocks! Why all this effort? Because we want to be proud of our apprentices. And we want them to be proud to belong to us.
Keep in mind: the sooner you apply, the sooner you will hear about our decision. Applying with us is easy ... via the online application portal, which you can access here.
What follows after this “virtual” first contact is …
a non-binding trial day including a test,
a selection interview including a visit to the workplace (possibly with your parents),
the apprenticeship contract, and
the beginning of your apprenticeship in September of the respective year.
Secondary school students
Every year from June to September, about 250 secondary school students join us for a summer internship. They earn some money by being a valuable support to our company during the holiday season. To many of them, the experiences they make during this time also serve as an important orientation for their future careers. This short “flirtation” can thus turn into a steady relationship at a very early stage. For the benefit of both sides.
It’s quite a handful, all the things that young people are expected to juggle today: school, friends, family, leisure time, chats, tweets and blogs ... having specific goals surely makes many things easier. So we are happy to help you find what you are looking for: we supply ideas, offers and carry out information campaigns in schools. That makes sense. Learning. Knowing. Getting to know each other.
Specials for students of higher secondary schools with a technical focus (HTL)
As a company with a technical focus, we are naturally interested in getting in touch with students of higher secondary schools with a technical focus (HTL), technical universities and universities of applied sciences. And as we want them to be able to actually experience the competence and spirit of our company, we offer special cooperation programmes.
For students of higher secondary schools with a technical focus (HTL), we offer:
doka Inside (from 4th class HTL)
support in final theses for the school-leaving certificate
equipping of training centres for builders
We employ recent graduates of higher secondary schools with a technical focus (HTL) in the gap period after leaving school and before starting the mandatory period of military or civil alternative service under temporary contracts. This facilitates their later transfer into work life (even if they decide not to work for us after completing the military or civil alternative service).
