Otopeni Viaduct

Ilfov County, Romania

The viaduct will be used for the railway line connecting the "Henri Coandă" International Airport in Otopeni, Ilfov County with the North Railway Station in Bucharest. The construction was carried out to facilitate the access of the visitors for the UEFA European Football Championship 2020 (postponed to 2021 due to the COVID19 pandemic).

The viaduct is 1,52 km long (with 37 piles and an abutment) and crosses National Road 1 (DN1) - the main artery entering the capital. The Doka systems used were:
- Top 50 - platform system made of WS10 metal beams and H20 timber beams
- For the piles and pillars the Framax Xlife system was used for high efficiency
- For foundations, parapets and gutters the Frami Xlife system was used (easy to handle without crane).
