In the high-rise sector, Doka remains the market leader in climbing formwork with Burj Khalifa as its leading example. It has also been instrumental in the realization of several 90+ storey towers in the famed Dubai Marina, plus having supplied formwork to over 80% of the high rises in West Bay area Doha, Qatar and for several projects within the massive King Abdullah Financial District in Saudi Arabia, including the district’s tallest and largest towers. Even in smaller markets such as Lebanon, Doka has clinched the Sama Beirut which is set to be the highest building in Beirut, plus the Amman Rotana luxury hotel in Jordan. On the tourism side, for religious tourism, one of Doka Saudi Arabia’s largest projects is the prestigious Al Shamiya Holy City of Mecca expansion project.
Due to its global expertise in civil engineering, Doka has been tapped for execution of major infrastructure projects. Besides the Al-Jamarat bridge reconstructon in Saudi Arabia and Hodariyat Bridge in UAE, Doka Gulf was recently awarded four new bridge interchange projects in Dubai and Sharjah, whereby they providing systems for frame shoring and structural support at heights of up to 20 meters and even in some cases providing onsite assembly and erection as a pilot service in the region. Transportation infrastructure with major road, bridge and tunnelling efforts including the Wadi Adai and Al Amerat Viaduct, one of the most technically challenging projects to be undertaken in the Sultanate of Oman and a tunnelling project with Impreglio in Abu Dhabi. Airport concreting work is ongoing at the King Abdelaziz International Airport in Saudi Arabia plus Muscat International, Duqum and Salalah Airports in Oman. On the petrochemical side, Doka’s flexible formwork and load-bearing solutions for LNG tanks, support and associated oil & gas building structures are heavily impacting the fast progress in key markets across the GCC, particularly in the Lusail district Qatar, Ruwais and Western region of UAE and also a major Saudi Aramco substructure project in Dammam. Energy, district cooling, STP and power generation are also vitally important, Doka Qatar supplied dam, climbing and framed formwork for the 40m deep clarification basin of the Doha North Sewerage Treatment Plant. To further meet growing energy demands, Doka Saudi Arabia is currently working on an Electrical Power Plant in the western Rapigh area.
