With over 30 years of presence in the UAE, Doka marks a milestone in the region’s construction journey. In a recent conversation, Michael Arnold, Managing Director of Doka Gulf, shared insights into the launch and evolution of the UAE Online Shop to meet today’s industry needs. In doing so, it became clear that part of Doka’s success hadn’t just been about its state-of-the-art products, systems, engineering solutions, or people, but its collective ability to understand the unique challenges faced by construction sites across the UAE and beyond. This included factors such as how the demand for materials can fluctuate rapidly or how delays in procurement can have significant consequences for project timelines and budgets. By recognising the need for a customer-centric solution, Doka developed its online shop to streamline the ordering process while ensuring the timely delivery of essential materials by incentivising customer loyalty through its most competitive pricing.

Consequently, Doka’s Online Shop was conceptualised not just as another eCommerce platform but as an exclusive benefit offered to its most valued customers and those with a proven track record of reliability and timely payments. This exclusivity allowed it to focus on delivering a superior experience to Doka’s long-standing clients, ensuring access to the best prices and the most efficient service.

In order to achieve this, the online shop needed to offer a range of benefits that made it appealing to Doka’s customer base, starting with convenience. By providing customers with the option to browse and order products 24/7, regardless of public holidays or time zones, Doka tapped into the real world of construction, which isn’t constrained by hours, but with the end goal of safely delivering projects on time and on budget. As a result, project managers were given, for the first time, the flexibility to order at their convenience and the complete knowledge that the service would be fulfilled at the earliest opportunity. The platform also provided complete transparency in pricing, eliminating the need for negotiation, thereby ensuring that customers always get the best deal.

To maintain Doka’s promise of fast delivery, we’re heavily invested in optimising our processes to ensure a seamless online shopping experience. As an example, our "forward cart" feature allows customers to quickly add multiple items to their cart, thereby minimising manual errors while saving valuable time. We’ve also mastered same-day delivery for many of our products, ensuring that urgent orders are fulfilled promptly. This has been a game changer for our customers, as it allows them to avoid costly delays and keep their projects on track.

As with any online shop, Doka also understood the importance of ensuring the availability of its most popular products, particularly those essential for any concrete project, including formwork beams, plywood, tie items, and tie rods. As a result, our logistics teams ensured that all high-demand items remained readily available in our extensive inventory. We also provided customers with the flexibility to have their orders delivered directly to site or for them to be picked up from our yard.

As of April 2025, the UAE Online Shop offers 35 Würth products across six categories: machining, anchors, technical chemicals, safety and workwear, fire protection, and work equipment. Michael Arnold, Managing Director of Doka Gulf, emphasizes the value: “This enables us to provide our customers with a significantly wider product range, bringing us closer to becoming a one-stop shop for construction needs in the UAE.

While we're proud of the success of our online shop, we are constantly exploring new ways to improve our offering, while enhancing the customer experience. This also means we're proactively committed to sustainability and are working on initiatives to reduce our environmental impact while promoting responsible sourcing.
