Doka has confirmed its status as a platinum sponsor at this year’s International Concrete Sustainability Conference, hosted at the Al Bustan Rotana in Dubai on 24th – 25th November.

Spread over a full day on 24th and half a day on 25th, the ICSC focuses on providing learning and networking opportunities, while discussing the latest advances, technical knowledge, research, tools and solutions for sustainable concrete manufacturing, design and construction. Particular subjects that will be covered at this year’s conference will include sustainability initiatives in the Middle East region and green concrete and sustainable concrete construction materials.

Amongst the guest speakers confirmed at this year’s event includes Doka Concremote’s managing director, Wilko van der Meer. As a long-standing member of the concrete industry, and co-owner of BAS Research & Technology in the Netherlands, Van der Meer is also one of the professionals behind Doka’s remote in-place concrete sensor, Concremote; a device that provides real-time information on compressive strength build-up and hydration temperature evolution that has already made a significant impact in terms of both time and cost savings for its clients.

In line with Dubai’s ongoing development of sustainable initiatives, this will be the first time the ICSC has been held since the Dubai Municipality enforced its law that green cement must be used in all new buildings as part of a strategy to protect the environment and reduce gas emissions, in April this year.
