Submerged Tunnel GK Project

South Korea

The formwork system for the construction of one of the deepest tunnels in the world has been supplied by Doka. The tunnel connects the City of Busan to the island of Geoje by a 3.0 km long and 60 m deep immersed tunnel. 4 tunnel segments each with a length of 180 m were simultaneously manufactured in a dry dock. After completion and flooding the dry dock the segments were transported by tugboats into position and immersed to its final location.
