Freight train bypass St. Pölten

Austria

Doka delivered several tunnel forming wagons for implementing building lot GUW 3 which is part of the St. Pölten freight train bypass. The goal was to merge the two tubes of the Bründlkapellentunnel into one single-tube tunnel. Since some of these twin-tube sections are separated only by a shared centre wall, the forming wagons were continuously expanded and reconfigured so that in the end it was possible to build 16 additional single-tube sections. The same formwork is then used to build the Radleitentunnel which also consists of a single tube accommodating two tracks.
