The countdown is on. Until March 5, 2023, innovative solutions that make a significant contribution to sustainability in the building lifecycle can be submitted for the Josef Umdasch Research Prize 2023. The winner will have the opportunity to implement the idea in cooperation with Doka's sister company Umdasch Group Ventures.
The construction sector is responsible for many environmental impacts, and a significant driver in the construction and operation of real estate is the high consumption of resources. On the other hand, construction is critical to solving major global problems. The world population is expected to reach 9.8 billion people in 2050. The need for affordable housing and infrastructure is increasing enormously and can be solved mainly by the construction sector. Thus, sustainability in the entire construction life cycle is gaining crucial importance for the future. "The Umdasch Group acts in a very future-oriented manner. Sustainability is one of the important pillars of our corporate strategy, which is why we have chosen this topic for the Josef Umdasch Research Prize this year, in order to gain new impulses and ideas," explains Wolfgang Litzlbauer, Chairman of the Executive Board of the Umdasch Group, which sponsors the prize.Wanted: innovation and creativity
