Huangmao Hai Bridge

Zhuhai, China

After completion, the route will be 31 kilometers long and the cable-stayed bridge will be 720 meters wide. The bridge contains a trio-tower and a double span bridge design. The pylons will soar to a height of 248 meters and 257 meters. It will be part of the bridge network in the Greater Bay Area, which includes Hong Kong – Zhuhai – Macao Bridge, Shenzhen - Zhongshan, Nansha and Humen Bridges.

Challenge:
The shape of the pylon starts with a round section at the bottom and turn oval in the middle part with a decreasing section width. At the top, the pylon increases th section width and turn again from oval shape to a round shape.

Solution:
Doka used large-area formwork Top50 which climbed with the SKE100 plus platform. For the challenging geometry, Doka developed a special suspension shoe to arrive a satisfactory solution.
