Doka has been formally recognised for its commitment towards business innovation at an award ceremony in Dubai where the Doka Gulf team collected the Business Excellence Award from His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and first Deputy Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council.

The award ceremony, which was hosted at Madinat Jumeirah and held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai included addresses from H.E. Hamad Buamim, President & CEO, Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Chairman of the Steering Committee for the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Business Award, and special guest speaker, bestselling author and motivational speaker Ron Kaufman, and H.E. Majid Saif Al Ghurair, chairman, Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

Established In 2005, the award was launched by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce as a way of recognizing and rewarding firms that contribute to the UAE’s economic development; as such the award has acted as a catalyst in encouraging businesses to analyse their current practices and, ultimately enhance their performance by promoting excellence.

H.E. Hamad Buamim stressed the importance of the award in fostering a culture of business excellence throughout the GCC’s private sector. He explained that the comprehensive award programme enabled companies to measure their institutional performance against global best practices and identify areas where they need to improve. He congratulated Doka Gulf on its achievements and contribution to business excellence in the UAE, and added that the company serves as an example for the rest of the business community.

Celebrating its twentieth year in the UAE in 2017, Doka Gulf’s core area of operation is formwork where it has developed a reputation as a preferred provider in the United Arab Emirates. Having contributed towards some of the country’s most iconic buildings including the Burj Khalifa and the Burj Al Arab, Doka Gulf’s business emphasis has continuously focused on understanding the requirements of its clients, and providing the most efficient and innovative solution.

Receiving the award on behalf of the company, Doka Gulf’s managing director, Michael Arnold said; “I am delighted to accept this award on behalf of Doka Gulf - not only is it a distinct honour for our company, but also an affirmation of the diligent work and efforts made by all members of our team here in Dubai. As a company we strive to innovate and improve at every turn, a characteristic that has become the driving force behind our performance and our status as a trusted supplier and partner to the UAE construction market.

It is a sincere privilege for Doka Gulf to be a part of Dubai’s extraordinary story and as such we’d like to offer our thanks to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai for his patronage of this award. We’d also like to extend our gratitude to the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry for its efforts in making today possible, as well as its professionalism and organization throughout the award process. Finally, it only leaves me to say thank you, and we look forward to continuing to be a part of Dubai’s ongoing reputation as a centre for innovation and excellence.”

A recent example of Doka Gulf’s commitment to innovation was acknowledged in September last year when it received a ‘Certificate of Technical Approval’ (TAC-157) from the Dubai Central Laboratory Department, Dubai Municipality for its in-situ digital concrete measuring device, Concremote; a proven alternative to early age laboratory and field cured test specimens which helps contractors know exactly when to commence deshuttering procedures.
