Kaltern Lido, South Tyrol

Italy

The South Tyrolean town of Kaltern is home to a most unusual structure: The sun-deck "hovers" on six idiosyncratically shaped supporting cores, with the swimming pool sunk into the middle of it. Stringent fair-faced concrete specifications, complex geometries and non-tied supporting cores – these were among the challenges which the various Doka formwork systems had to address.
