Aftetal Bridge

Bad Wünnenberg, Germany

The 785 m long Aftetal bridge is the centrepiece of the Bad Wünnenberg bypass. After a construction period of six years, it was opened to traffic in spring 2022. The 7-field bridge is supported by six piers, some of which reach a height of up to 66 m. The fully hydraulic SKE100 plus automatic climbing formwork was used for concreting the piers.

For the safe assembly of the pier head formwork, the climbing pier head platforms of the Automatic climbing formwork SKE100 plus were used again. Two composite forming carriages ensured that the concrete of the roadway slab could be connected to the steel structure. The suspended finishing-work platform provided a high degree of safety. Two composite forming carriages ensured that the concrete of the roadway slab could be connected to the steel structure.

The entire SKE100 plus platforms were lifted away from one pier shaft to the next – saving time and money. The installation and dismantling of two forming wagons TU was also carried out by the Doka formwork preassembly experts. The Forming wagon TU was mounted on the pier cap on the superstructure for the construction of the parapet wall.
