Hall 12

Frankfurt, Germany

The world's biggest expo, congress and event organiser with its own exhibition grounds is about to get even bigger. The new structure with just about 34,000 m2 of exhibition floorspace has to be finished by the end of April 2018. Work is tightly phased right through the construction period, large quantities of material are involved and the statics and joint-pattern requirements are strict. That's why Doka was chosen to support the construction consortium with a smart formwork and logistics concept and a great deal of technical know-how.

Challenge:

  • Logistical complexity, quantities of materials needed
  • Suspended slabs along the building’s northern axis
  • Parking facility not fair-faced concrete, but joint pattern to remain visible Pre-assembly and custom formwork
  • Absolute cut-off date for completion (no leeway for postponements)

Solution:

  • Project management by local Doka branch
  • Numerous Staxo load-bearing towers
  • Custom formwork
  • Formwork pre-assembly
