City Tunnel Leipzig, sections: 38-44

Germany

The City Tunnel project in Leipzig is one of the biggest inner-city infrastructure projects anywhere in Germany. It is part of a large-scale rearrangement of the entire railway system in the Leipzig metropolitan area. Blocks: 38 – 44: Owing to the varying cross-sectional shape (with a broadening zone from 18.19 m to 18.73 m) the solution planned here was a light, adaptable tunnel formwork traveller that was designed to separate in the middle.
